My class has been excellent this week; the lightbulb finally flicked on, and I realized with the help of Chelsea that I was in the wrong campaign, and so that's the reason why I could not see anything that I was supposed to see. Chelsea helped me figure out that I was on the "smart" campaign rather than the "search" campaign, which meant I could not see any of the Google Analytics I had previously needed for assignments and my project. I emailed my instructor and found that I was indeed in the wrong campaign, and she helped me get onto the right campaign. Can you believe that once loaded, I started to see what I was supposed to see. Hallelujah! I quickly signed up and worked on a campaign with two ads and another one with just one. You would not believe how easy this was to do compared to the struggles that I have had from the previous eight or so weeks of not understanding what the heck was doing and why I saw nothing that I was supposed to see. I finally understand what I'm supposed to be doing, and I can see the same buttons that the examples were showing and the buttons I'm supposed to push, so this part was significant in my books.
Landing pages and SEO are fascinating concepts and worth understanding because if you do it right, you will get the views you need and maybe even the results you are hoping to attain. I learned a lot about the importance of having your ads direct you to the right landing pages because it does make a difference. Using the right keywords can increase the SEO of your website, and having the correct information listed on your ad campaign does make a difference. My dilemma is how do you get it to go to the right landing page? I think I remember reading about a code on your pages that help you do that, but I can't remember if I read that right.
So my current task is waiting for information from my friends at Shopify support to help me figure that out. Yay Shopify!
